Acidic Vs. Alkaline

When we hear or talk about pH balance alot of times we think of things like swimming pools and fish tanks.

But, what about pH balance in our bodies?

A pH level is a measurement of acidity or alkalinity.

Most people are shocked when they learn how their pH levels can affect disease and deplete you of valuable nutrients in the body.

On the pH scale a normal level is a 7.0.
Anything below a 7.0 is into the acidic range.
Our bodies operate optimally in an alkaline environment.
When the pH levels drop below a 7.0 cells are impaired and cannot function.
The body will search for sources of alkalinity leaching calcium from bones and teeth causing dental problems and osteoporosis.
A diet of pre-packaged processed and fast food living causes our pH levels to drop below 7.0.
A body that becomes too acidic is at risk to manifest disease.
Specific foods have different affects on our pH levels.
Sugar (brown or white),soft drinks(diet or regular),white breads and pasta's,excessive protein( of any kind), salt and coffee are a few of the foods that deplete alkaline levels in the body.
Some indications that your pH levels may be low are bad breath, fatigue, hormonal issues (acne on the jaw line)and brittle nails.
Acidosis is a serious condition that occurs when the pH levels are below 6.5 regularly.
A body that is too acidic is setting the stage for serious disease.
To check your pH levels get some pH paper and test your urine first thing in the morning. It should be in the range of 6.5 and 7.5
To increase alkalinity in your body boost your diet with whole foods like fruits, vegetables and supplements of coral calcium and magnesium.
Also lemon alkalizes the body even though most people may think it would be acidic it is not.
The great thing about lemon is it can be easily added to water or any other food.
Take your pH levels seriously and set the stage for health.
Preventative care is the key to your Optimum Health.
